Five Tucson performing arts companies join the S&S to do an MacBeth inspired evening of creative interpretation! Saguaro City Music Theatre, Winding Road Theater Ensemble, Borderlands Theater and Unscrewed Theater each take one act for a wickedly magical evening of music, improv and theater!

Wolfe Bowart and Xochitl Martinez of The WoBo Show will join to host the event with the WoBo Show’s unique blend of magic, mystery and wonder.

THIS EVENT WILL BE ON THE MAINSTAGE OF THE S&S THEATRE.

Artists/Devisers

We’re taking on Act 3 with a movement/dance interpretation of the classic tale.
Get ready to read between the lines and experience a Borderlands Theater twist on this timeless story!

Jules Grantham
Macbeth / Choreographer

Jules (she/her) holds a BFA and a minor in Dance from the University of Arizona, and has brought energy, grace, and storytelling through productions; Fiddler on the Roof, The Value of Names, Oklahoma!, and The Music Man. She is also a fully certified Fletcher Pilates teacher, blending her dance background with mindful movements. She is thrilled to be part of the 5 Acts 5 Macs, as both actor and choreographer! 

Anel Schmidt
Lady Macbeth

Anel (she/her) is a native of Sonora, Mexico who graduated from the Universidad de Sonora with a bachelor’s degree in Theater Arts. After graduating, she moved to Arizona and resumed her acting career on Tucson’s stages. Her productions are RENT, In the Heights, Rock of Ages, and Alebrijes. She has been a cast member with Stories that Soar! for 16 years. Anel is happy and proud to represent the Latino community and voice.

Taylor Hernandez
Banquo

Taylor (she/her) is an actress who graduated from Pima Community College with her AFA in Performing Arts and AA in Liberal Arts. She scripted and virtual played with Winding Road, and she has also performed in Wyoming with The WAIT Company in The Complete Works of William Shakespeare.  She is excited to be on stage again and is very thankful to be part of such an amazing cast and crew.

Thalita Andrade
Fleance, Party Guest / Assistant Director

Thalita (she/her) is a student at the University of Arizona, double majoring in Theater Arts and Music. Her recent performances are Requiem for a Reef (A devised physical theater piece based on theater of metamorphosis), New Directions Festival, and Anita the Musical. She is grateful and excited for the opportunity to work and learn from such amazing performers, both as actress and assistant director.

Milta Ortiz
Witch, Murderer, Party Guest / Director

Milta (she/her) is a Salvadoran American playwright in Tucson who is originally from the Bay Area by way of El Salvador. She earned an MFA from Northwestern University, and shared a concert of Anita, devised Antigona 3.0, directed The Candy Craze, Ballet & Bagels, and more to go. She is excited to devise the 5 Acts 5 Macs for both as actor and director!

Diana Acosta
Witch, Murderer, Party Guest

Diana (she/her) is a Mexican entrepreneur who, since a young age, has been drawn to the spotlight in some way or another. Whether it be in the form of dance, modeling or hosting, Diana cannot miss an opportunity to be part of great projects. She is excited to be able to perform with Borderlands Theater at the 5 Acts 5 Macs, and bring to life a part of Tucson’s history.

Miyu Enomoto
Witch, Murderer, Party Guest

Miyu (she/her) came all the way from Japan to Tucson, Arizona, to seek the power of arts in the Borderlands. Experiencing swirling emotions here, she is expressing them through movements, freestyling, dancing, writing, drawing, and crocheting. She is learning how these practices could create a strong community, a sense of connection, and the feeling of being deeply moved. She is excited to show off her very first piece in theater at 5 Acts 5 Macs!
