Emmaneul Uwayezu wa Kabano

Emmanuel Uwayezu, born and raised in Africa, moved to the USA seven years ago. A skilled interpreter fluent in six languages, he has 18 years of experience with international NGOs. Trained as a Telecommunications Engineer, he has worked on electrification and computer repair projects and has taught mathematics and physics. In the U.S., he served as a Refugee Case Manager with IRC and JFCS. In 2018, he founded Tucson African Musica (TAMu), a refugee youth music group promoting integration and substance abuse prevention through education, employment, lawfulness, and community service. TAMu fosters unity and empowerment through music.
